Rabbi Avi Kilimnick

Rabbi Avi Kilimnick is the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Sholom.  Born and bred in Rochester, Rabbi Avi has always had a strong commitment and love for Congregation Beth Sholom. From a very young age, Rabbi Avi would attend minyan, partake in Shabbat services and be an avid member of our NCSY youth group.

Rabbi Avi attended Hillel Community Day School for elementary and continued his Jewish Education at the Chafetz Chaim High School in Rochester. After spending two years in Israel at Yeshivat Sha’alvim and receiving his bachelors from Yeshiva University, Rabbi Avi attended RIETS Rabbinical School where he received his Rabbinic ordination in 2008. Rabbi Avi, with his wife Esti, returned to Rochester in 2011.

Beyond Rabbi Avi’s passion to serve as Rabbi for Beth Sholom and to teach Torah, he also loves to sing and has recently released his debut album “Hadran”.

Rabbi Avi, Esti and their children, play an integral role in helping shape the environment of our Shul to be a warm and caring place where all Jews feel welcome.

Rabbi Avi may be reached through the synagogue office or via email at rebavi@bethsholomrochester.org.
